BASTILLE feat. Ella - No Angels
Simply put, Bastille’s reworked mashup-cover of The xx’s “Angels” and TLC’s “No Scrubs” is stuff of legend.
Taken off the London quartet’s film-inspired mixtape, Other People’s Heartache, Pt. 2, “No Angels” opens with and incorporates lines from the movie ‘Psycho’ on it’s way to re-imagining TLC’s Grammy Award-winning smash in a way that you never saw coming. When Ella comes on around the 1:33 mark, the entire dynamic of the song changes, creating this incredible back and forth that gives “No Scrubs” a climax you certainly won’t find in the original version.
